Two Small Silk Samplers, late 18th/early 19th century, an 1801 sampler stitched by Phebe Hufsey of an exercise from an English grammar book, "Content the offspring of virtue dwells both in retirement and in the active scenes of life," and a 1794 sampler stating only "Phebe Gilkes, Milverton School," in a frame of contrasting colored and patterned stitched squares, framed dimensions to 11 x 11 3/4 in.
