[Wizard of Oz] L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) The Emerald City of Oz. Chicago: The Reilly & Britton Co., 1910.
First edition, first printing, binding A in medium blue cloth (variant?) front cover paper label illustrated in full color on metallic silver background with metallic green ink embellishments, endpapers illustrated in black and orange; illustrated with sixteen full-color inserted illustrations, the plates embellished with metallic green ink, no captions beneath the illustrations; verso of ownership page advertises five Baum books, ending with John Dough and the Cherub; with the dust jacket, front panel with same illustration as front board, printed in metallic inks; spine printing as on the book, in black only, back panel with the five titles mentioned on verso of ownership page, front and back flaps blank; jacket a bit dirty, some short tears, spine ends and corners chipped with wear; section of center front panel with loss of surface and image, as a piece of tape was at one time stuck to the front panel and subsequently torn away, with attendant damage, 9 x 6 1/2 in.
