First American edition, with "The End" printed on page 303, illustrated with 109 plates, including two maps, bound in blue publisher's cloth, blocked in gold and black, with jellyfish on the front board, and the incorrect use of the word "Sea" in the title on front board and spine, brown endleaves; inner front joint splitting, sewing structure somewhat shaken, water spot on fore-edges, binding rubbed, cloth fraying slightly at head and tail, 5 1/4 x 8 in.
