12mo, bound in publisher's dark brown cloth, with Harper Brother's circular emblem embossed on both boards, white end leaves, six pages of ads following the text; binding shaken and cocked, joints split, boards almost completely detached, edge and corner wear; ffep pasted down to front board, contemporary paper seal of notary public S.C. Beale attached to title page, obscuring the final letter of the title; preliminaries with stain in top inner corner; foxing to text, 7 1/2 x 5 in.
