Civil War Memorial and Model 1850 Foot Officer's Sword, c. mid to late-19th century, a wood-framed Civil War memorial to John. G. Herrold, listing his service record during the war, and his Model 1850 foot officers sword, with a brass hilt, shagreen grip, steel blade, and a shagreen-covered leather scabbard with brass fittings.
Provenance: By descent to the consignor.
Note: First Lieutenant John G. Herrold served during 1863 in the 172nd Pennsylvania Regiment.

Memorial has some light browning, but it good condition, sword has some hilt damage and rust on the blade, scabbard has a break below the middle band.
