Non-Regulation Foot Officer's Sword, c. 1861-65, steel hilt with an eagle and U S on the counter-guard, shagreen and wire-wrapped grip, engraved steel blade marked F. HORSTER/SOLINGEN, and a steel scabbard with two carrying rings, blade lg. 32 1/2, overall lg. 38 in.
Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum.

Has a coating of museum varnish for storage, some scattered patina on the blade and scabbard and the tip of the drag is worn from use.
