Lacquered Trunk, Japan, 19th century, standing on six tapering legs decorated with maki-e lacquer of the "Three Friends of Winter," plum, bamboo, and pine, the top, front, and back with a large Tokugawa crest, the metal mounts in copper, 26 1/2 x 19 3/8 x 19 3/8 in.
Large cracks to the top with overall worn and missing lacquer pieces, wood dowels holding top of lid down removed.
