Attributed to Max Kuehne (American, 1880-1968)

View of Manhattan from the East River
Titled and signed "View of Manhattan/Kuehne" on the reverse, titled in full on a
piece of tape and inscribed "Kuehne," both on the back of the frame.
Oil on panel, 7 1/2 x 19 5/8 in., framed.
Condition: Two small abrasions with losses l.r., retouch, small crack to surface c.r., surface grime with area of partial cleaning to u.r, corner.
Estimate $2,000-3,000

There are minute abrasions to the l.r. and u.l. The surface appears stable. There is retouch near the right edge of the composition. The work appears to have been painted on the reverse of a drawer front.
