Horstmann Cavalry Officer's Sword, c. mid to late 19th century, gilt-brass hilt with foliate designs, wire-wrapped brown horn grip, steel blade with gilt, marked above ricasso W.H. HORSTMANN & SONS PHILADELPHIA, and IRON PROOF on the spine of the blade, brown steel scabbard with gilt-brass fittings with eagles, laurels, crossed cannons, and sunbursts, blade lg. 35 1/2, overall lg. 43 in.

Wire wrap has one lose strand, blade has some light patina on gilt and steel, a few small dings in scabbard, but in overall very good condition.
