Model 1850 Foot Officer's Sword, c. mid to late 19th century, gilt-brass hilt with foliate designs, shagreen and wire-wrapped grip, engraved steel blade with foliate designs, a panoply of arms, and a U.S., black leather scabbard with brass throat, middle band, and drag, blade lg. 31, overall lg. 36 5/8 in.

Hilt still retains much of its gilt finish, blade in good shape with some scattered patina, leather scabbard in very good condition with no cracks or dry leather.
