Eagle-pommel Sword and Scabbard, c. early to mid-19th century, gilt-brass eagle pommel, brass backstrap, knuckle bow, and langets, bone grips, fire-blued steel blade engraved with foliate designs, and a panoply of arms, brass scabbard engraved with foliate designs, with an American eagle over a shield with stars and strips, blade lg. 30, overall lg. 35 in.

Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum.

Coated with museum varnish for storage, a few light nicks on the grip near the pommel, some light blueing remains on the blade, brass scabbard has a few dents.
