No. 81 Oak Tall Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1890, the fret top over the plain freestanding hood columns flanking the glazed dial door and 13-in. composite brass dial with silvered Roman numeral chapter ring, name boss marked E. Howard & Co., Boston, seconds dial, circle decorated center, cast brass spandrels and moon's age in the arch, beveled glass waist door flanked by quarter-columns over a paneled base on pad feet, pendulum tie-down and brass plaque stating Made by The E. Howard Watch & Clock Company/383 Washington St. Boston/41 Maiden Lane N.Y./34 Washington Street Chicago, eight-day, hour-striking movement with dead-beat escapement, maintaining power, brass pendulum, and two brass-cased weights, ht. 8 ft. 2 in.
