Sharps New Model 1863 Rifle, c. 1865, serial number C37118, walnut stock with three cartouche marks on the left butt, steel patchbox on the right butt, inspector mark C.B.G. stamped on the wood forestock just above the lever, right side of the receiver marked C.SHARPS' PAT/OCT. 5TH 1852 and R.S. LAWRENCE PAT/APRIL 12TH 1859., left side lightly marked C.SHARPS PAT/SEPT. 12TH 1848, top of the barrel near the breech marked NEW MODEL 1863 and in front of the rear sight SHARPS RIFLE/MANUFG. CO./HARTFORD CONN, barrel lg. 30, overall lg. 47 1/2 in.

Stock has a few light dings, cartouche marks are crisp, receiver is a light plum color, missing the small screw at the very front of the sight, barrel retains most of its blueing, and the action functions properly.
