Austrian .950 Silver and Guilloche Enamel Box, 1886-1922, maker's mark "HE," Franz Hiess & Sohne, Vienna, retailer, the square box with cut corners and dark blue/green ground, the hinged cover with circular medallion with monochrome painted depiction of a basket of flowers, shovel, and rake to a light-color ground, with scrolling foliage and red cabochon stones to corners, the clasp set with another cabochon, the interior cover with engraved inscription, lg. 2 in., approx. 3.9 troy oz.
One back corner with large nick to silver edge and subtle inpainting/repair to enamel. Interior with speck of verdigris to one corner. Age-typical nicks and abrasions throughout.
