Lippitt", dia. 11 1/2 in., approx. 41.3 troy oz.
N.B. The cutter Waspwas originally owned by Archibald Rodgers, and designed by Nathanael Herreshoff in 1891 to compete against her revolutionary predecessor Gloriana. The two cutters raced against each other numerous times the following 1892 season pitting captains and half-brothers Charlie and John Barr against each other. Wasp continued to be a competitor in her field in the years following.
