Description:

Two Sterling Silver Larchmont Yacht Club Trophies, a Gorham bowl with undulating rim and fluted body, on a circular foot, and with engraved inscription "LYC/ Spring Regatta/ June 6, 1891/ First Prize Class 11/ Won by/ Dot," lg. 8 1/4; and Mauser circular tray with reeded rim, club insignia, and acid-etched inscription "LYC/ 1909/ Three First One Second/ One Third/ Prizes/ Won by/ Busy Bee," dia. 11 in.; approx. 24.7 total troy oz.

N.B. Busy Bee was a member of the twenty-one-foot raceabout class owned by accountant Robert L. Cuthbert. Cuthbert, an American citizen and member of New York Yacht Club, enlisted in the British Army at the start of World War I. He was killed in action in Flanders in 1915.
