Five Persian Rug Samplers, West and Northwest Persia, early 20th century, a Sarouk, the light red field with three polychrome stylized palmettes encircled by blossoming vines, within a hooked boteh and meandering vine border, 1 ft. 8 in. x 2 ft. 1 in., a Heriz, with three quarter medallions surrounded by curled and serrated leaves, palmettes, and angular vines, all in shades of ivory, light red, and navy, stylized meandering vine border, 5 ft. 9 in. x 3 ft. 7 in., a Nahavand, with a midnight blue field displaying a light blue quarter medallion and stylized palmettes, rosettes, and vines, lozenge inset with floral-motif half main border, 3 ft. 10 in. x 3 ft., a Hamadan, comprised of border segments displaying polychrome "turtle" palmettes, rosettes, diamonds, and angular vines and serrated leaves, 1 ft. 4 in. x 1 ft. 3 in., and a Sultanabad, the ivory field displaying a polychrome floral border segment, 9 in. x 2 ft. 6 in.
