"Star" Kazak Rug, Southwest Caucasus, third quarter 19th century, the interlocking repeat design of boldly drawn stars and octagons with diagonally positioned polygons in shades of indigo, red, aubergine, and blue-green on an ivory field, within a yellow large-scale "crab" variant main border, several reciprocal sawtooth minor borders, 7 ft. 7 in. x 5 ft.
