Frank Weston Benson (American, 1862-1951)

The Lobsterman, 1915, edition of 50 (Paff, 64). Signed "FrankWBenson." in pencil l.l., numbered "23/50" in pencil l.r., label from The Guild of Boston Artists affixed to the backing paper. Etching on paper, plate size 7 7/8 x 10 in. (19.8 x 25.4 cm),framed.
Condition: Toning, not examined out of frame.

N.B. The lot is accompanied by an aquatint signed by Herbert George.
Estimate $700-900

Sheet measures 11 3/8 x 13 7/8 in. Margins 1 5/8 in. or more. Deckled on three sides. Light-struck. Ink fingerprints in margins. Paper hinges; hinge at u.r. corner is broken. Fox mark in l.c. of margin. No additional condition to report.
