Description:

Carved Cherry Desk Bookcase, probably Derby, Connecticut, late 18th century, the flat molded cornice with dentil and gadroon carving above two hinged doors each with molded recessed panels opening to twelve compartments, the desk with fall-front opening to a stepped interior of two molded document drawers with five compartments and ten drawers, the case of four cockbeaded graduated drawers flanked by spiral-carved quarter columns on molded gadroon-carved base and ogee bracket feet, the brass bail pulls appear original, old refinish, (minor imperfections),ht. 82 1/4, wd. 41 3/4, dp. 20 in.
