Miniature Needlework Sampler, Fanny Babcock, c. 1786, worked in blue thread on a linen ground, lettered "FANNY BABCOCK/HER SAMPLER," with her birth date, further lettered "SARAH KIRTLAND" and dated "1786" below, (toned, small hole c.r.), sight size 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 in., in a beaded veneer frame.
Note: There are records of a Fanny Babcock born in 1779, in Saybrook, Connecticut, to Samuel Babcock and Rachel Conklin. She married Daniel Babcock, and died in 1859, at age 80.
