Description:

Pair of George III-style Sterling Silver Sauce Tureens and Covers, bearing marks for London, 1801-02, Thomas Robins, maker, each ovoid urn-form, the cover with finial cast as a marquis' coronet, framed by narrow leaftips, the body with gadrooned edges, two auricular handles, and engraved heraldry, on conforming foot further decorated with leaftips and gadrooning, lg. handle over handle 11 1/4 in., approx. 78.1 troy oz.

Very minor usage wear to foot rims and handles. One tureen with pins to handle with associated corrosion. Otherwise both in good overall condition.
