George III Sterling Silver Tea Urn, London, 1797-98, Peter & Ann Bateman, maker, the inverted pear-form urn with lift-off cover, two foliate handles, and Neoclassical ornament, on base with pierced apron and four claw-and-ball feet, ht. 20 in., approx. 84.6 troy oz.

Underside of urn is re-enforced with a thin piece of non-silver metal. Repair to join of urn to stem. Seam splitting to base where top joins pierced apron. Metal fatigue to apron and feet. Handle on spout turns with difficulty. Age-typical wear.
