Description:

Two Daguerreotypes:

American School, 19th Century, Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Woman Wearing a Bonnet, in an embossed leather case, and Boston School, 19th Century, Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Man, in a black leather push-button case.
Condition: The first has minor brown accretions, minor wear at corners and lightly abraded on embossed surface of case, partially split spine, scattered accretions on brass mat, velvet liner slightly abraded; the second has minor tarnish, dust, minor wear to case, corrosion on brass mat; not examined out of cases.

Provenance: A private New England collection.
