Spencer & Hotchkiss Carved Salem Bridge Shelf Clock, Salem Bridge, Connecticut, c. 1830, mahogany case with carved splat of two cornucopias, carved pineapple finials and split columns with leaves and vines flanking the full-length door, reverse-painted lower tablet (considerable losses), printed maker's label inside, painted wooden Arabic numeral dial with raised gilt decoration, all on paw feet, brass eight-day, time and strike movement, powered by two compounded lead weights and regulated by a pendulum, ht. 30 in.
Clock in original finish. Object right front foot reglued. Considerable losses on painted glass.
