Timby's Solar Timepiece No. 36, Manufactured by L. E. Whiting, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., c. 1863, the walnut case with centrally mounted terrestrial globe marked Gilman Joslin, Boston, c. 1860, revolving printed hour dial with Arabic numerals and minute markings, the lower printed paper Arabic seconds dial with eight-day jeweled lever escapement movement mounted behind and wound from the rear, original paper label inside lower door stating in part Timby's Solar Time-Piece, Manufactured by L.E. Whiting, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.,...Warranted accurate and of perfect workmanship throughout., original label stating Timby's Patent Timepiece, Patented 1863, No. 36, ht. 27 in.

Movement needs cleaning and/or lubrication, complete but presently not working, otherwise pristine, old surface on case, all paper including globe in excellent age consistent condition.
