Aaron Willard Jr. Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1815, mahogany case with painted iron Arabic numeral dial signed A. Willard Jr./Boston, blued-steel hands, the gilded rope fronts frame the reverse-painted tablets, the waist glass flanked by brass side ornaments and inscribed Patent, the lower a classical lady in a garden within an oval stenciled border, eight-day timepiece with recoil escapement, fillister head screws for case attachment, pendulum, and lead weight, ht. 35 in.
