Aaron Willard Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1820, mahogany case with painted iron Roman numeral dial inscribed Aaron Willard, Boston, gilded rope front frames with reverse-painted glasses, the lower of a mother and child, the waist glass flanked by brass side ornaments, with ribbon scrolls framing a stenciled center, eight-day timepiece with through bolt attachment and recoil escapement, pendulum and lead weight, ht. 34 in.
