Simon Willard Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1815, mahogany case with painted iron Roman numeral dial, crossbanded inlaid frames with mustard, gold leaf and green reverse-painted tablets, the waist glass flanked by brass side ornaments and signed S. Willard's Patent, the box glass with stenciled columns and geometric design with Federal eagle, shield and stars at the pendulum aperture, eight-day timepiece with T-bridge, step train, through bolt case attachment and recoil escapement, pendulum and lead weight, ht. 33 in.
