Aaron Willard Mahogany Tall Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, 1806, the fret-top case with brass stop-fluted freestanding columns flanking the 12-in. painted iron Roman numeral dial signed Aaron Willard, Boston with gilt spandrels and American sailing ship in the arch, heart-shaped seconds hand, inlaid rectangular waist door flanked by brass stop-fluted quarter columns, the base with similar inlays on high French feet, eight-day brass time and hour-strike movement with pendulum and two tin-cased weights, ht. 95 in.

Note: The original bill of sale is attached to the backboard stating "Jan. 11, 1806/ Benjamin Billings (?) Bot of Aaron Willard/ one eight-day clock at $64/Received payment in full/Aaron Willard".
Estimate $8,000-12,000

Feet and skirting are original, missing hood door, case finish water stained, losses and repairs to hood frets, losses to original bill of sale, case finished inside, finials are probable replacements, period weights, pendulum and key, movement needs an overhaul.
