Dudley Adams 18-inch Terrestrial Globe, c. 1798, twenty-four printed gores on plaster sphere and cartouche reading in part: Britanniarum REGI Augustissimo GEORGIO TERTIO., Made by D. ADAMS, Globe Maker to the King, Ins't Maker to his Majesty's Ordh'ee, & Optician to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, No. 60 Fleet Street London1798, calibrated brass meridian ring with hour ring at the pole, printed horizon band with Gregorian and Zodiacal calendars, supported on a turned baluster tripod stand with an engraved paper compass, and brass casters, ht. 40 in.
north and south poles have extensive repairs, cracks and repairs through out, printed horizon band and compass have tears and losses, compass missing needle and glass, repair to legs
