Spencer Browning & Rust 12-inch Ebony Octant, early 19th century, London, with ibone plaque engraved as above, brass index arm with bone vernier, sunshades, and horizon mirror, bone arc with scale from 0-95, all fitted in a dovetailed mahogany keystone box with label reading in part, John Kehew, Nautical Instrument Maker, New Bedford, with a carved bone latching hook.
