Model 1888 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle, c. 1889-93, walnut stock with no visible cartouche, steel lockplate is marked with an eagle and U.S./SPRINGFIELD, serial number marked near breech 523591, front of trapdoor marked U.S./MODEL/1884, with steel ramrod bayonet, barrel lg. 32 5/8, overall lg. 52 in.
Estimate $500-700

Stock in good condition with light dings, steel parts have a plum colored patina.
