Model 1841 Mississippi Rifle, c. 1849, walnut stock with brass patchbox, buttplate, triggerguard, and barrel bands, steel lock marked HARPERS/FERRY/1849, with an eagle over a US, barrel tang marked 1849, and breech of barrel marked with a V/P over an eagle, and AW/P, barrel lg. 33, overall lg. 48 3/4 in.

Provenance: From the collection of Gerald Stowe, former curator of arms and armor at the West Point Museum.
Estimate $1,800-2,000

Stock in very good shape with a few minor dings, barrel and steel parts are bright, overall, gun is in very good condition.
