Description:

Model 1863 Conversion Sharps Carbine, c. 1863-65, serial number 88055, walnut stock with no patchbox, steel buttplate cut for patchbox, lockplate marked C. SHARPS' PAT/OCT 5TH 1862 with no other visible markings, rear sight missing, barrel lg. 22, overall lg. 39 in.

Provenance: From the collection of the late Peter F. Frazier and M. Prudence Fleck.

Some dings and nicks in the stock, steel parts are a dark plum color, rear sight removed.
