Model 1859 Sharps Carbine, c. 1859-63, serial number 45435, walnut stock with iron patchbox, iron fittings, saddle bar, and ring on left side, lockplate marked C. SHARP'S PAT./OCT. 5TH 1852, and R.S. LAWRENCE PAT./APRIL 12TH 1859, top of barrel near sight marked NEW MODEL 1859, and SHARPS RIFLE/MANUFG. CO/HARTFORD CONN, barrel lg. 22, overall lg. 39 in.
