Model 1861 Springfield Rifle-musket with Sling and Bayonet, c. 1862, walnut stock with no visible cartouche marks, steel lockplate dated on the tail 1862, and marked U.S./SPRINGFIELD, steel fittings, bayonet marked U.S., barrel lg. 40, overall lg. 55 1/2 in.
