Model 1855 Percussion Rifle, c. 1859, walnut stock with two crisp cartouches on left side, steel patchbox on butt, steel fittings, and brass nose cap, lockplate dated on tail 1859, and marked U.S./HARPERS FERRY, barrel dated 1859 on the breech, with proofmarks, barrel lg. 33, overall lg. 49 1/2 in.
