Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Navy Carbine, c. 1862-65, walnut stock with brass buttplate, steel frame marked on right side with SHARPS/&/HANKINS/PHILADA, and on left side SHARPS/PATENT/1859, serial number marked on frame tang 1676, steel barrel has leather covering and steel muzzle band, barrel lg. 24, overall lg. 38 3/4 in.

Walnut stock has a few light dings, frame is a light plum color, some leather cover missing at breech and muzzle.
