Description:

French Model 1777 Flintlock Pistol, c. 1781, walnut stock marked A/31, with brass frame marked Mauberge below an A, steel barrel marked near breech with an A/31, and the date 81, steel belt hook on left side of pistol, steel ramrod may be a replacement, barrel lg. 7 1/2, overall lg. 14 in.

Provenance: From the collection of Gerald Stowe, former curator of arms and armor at the West Point Museum.
Estimate $1,400-1,600

Stock has some nicks, top jaw screw may be a replacement, steel has some light pitting and patina appropriate to its age.
