Manchu Man's Court Robe, China, 19th/20th century, the blue silk embroidered with abundant gold thread to depict eight Imperial dragons, a large dragon at the chest and upper back, the dragons pursuing flaming pearls and surrounded by clouds, bats, and cranes, above a lishui border with ruyi-heads and auspicious objects, the collar and horseshoe sleeves similarly embroidered on a smaller scale, lg. 50 in.
