Russian Parcel-gilt .875 Silver Trompe L'Oeil Sugar Box, Moscow, c. 1887, bearing maker's mark in Cyrillic "GL," assayer "AP" or Cyrillic "AR," 84 zolotnik standard, and Latvian import marks, rectangular, with a simulated embroidered cloth draped across the lid, a strapwork latch to lid mounted with a 14kt gold monogram, and simulated basketweave base with gold-washed strapwork handles to either side, raised on four gold-washed feet, ht. 4 in., approx. 27.9 troy oz.
Small dent to back left corner of led, back left foot dented slightly in making the box slightly off kilter (rocks on feet). Rubbing to gold-washed areas. Otherwise only very minor usage wear.
