Pair of B. Neresheimer & Sohne Silver Sweetmeat Baskets, Hanau, Germany, early 20th century, bearing London import marks, 1902-03, John George Piddington, importer, each with handle surmounted by a putto, body decorated with flowerheads, shells, and cartouches, on a conforming base with four scrolled feet, ht. 6 1.2 in., approx. 18.0 troy oz.
Estimate $600-800

Metal fatigue and possible repairs to handle joints. One handle bent slightly out of shape. Each very slightly off kilter on socles. Possibly originally gold-washed. Surface abrasions to interiors.
