Grain-painted Pine Tall Case Clock, Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Connecticut, early 19th century, the hood with scrolled cresting above the tombstone opening with flanking columns, with white-painted, piolychrome, and gilt wooden dial with pineapples in the spandrels, with seconds hand and calendar, lettered "S. Hoadley Plymouth," original paint, ht. 89 1/2 in.
Provenance: Note affixed to inside of hood traces family history back to S.M. Marriner, of Portland, Maine, in 1842.
