Portrait Miniature of a Gentleman, Reportedly a Self-portrait of the Artist, c. 1840s. Signed on backing paper in ink in script "Jas. S. Ellsworth Portrait Painter." Watercolor on valentine paper with embossed borders, half-length portrait, 3 1/4 x 2 3/4 in., in half of a period pressed-paper case. Condition: Very good.
