Pictorial Memorial Picture: "Sacred to the Memory of Catherine Myers." Unsigned. Watercolor on paper, depicting a village scene with a stone church beside a graveyard where three mourners stand beside a large urn-topped monument which is inscribed: "Sacred to the Memory of Catherine Myers, wife of Reuben Meyers/Who Departed the Life May the 12th 1834/Aged 52 y." over a sentimental verse, 24 x 31 1/2 in., in a later molded wood frame with gilt liner. Condition: Backed with linen, losses u.c. and u.l., toning, minor tears u.l. and l.l., foxing.
1/2 in. dia. loss u.c. near edge. several small paint losses primarily at u.l. The tear at u.l. and l.l. are about 3/4 to 1 in. lg.
