Pieced Cotton Log Cabin Variant Quilt, America, c. 1880s, with thirty large blocks of pieced printed and solid color cotton, most of the blocks centered with a red square on point, and with red triangular corners forming the larger squares on point in the pattern, edged with red fabric, backed with natural cotton, outline stitch quilting, a piece of fabric basted on the corner is inscribed "Made by my Husband's Grandmother about 1880- (signed) Florence Burnham," (toning, fraying, fading),94 x 78 in.

All of the small red squares at the center are frayed down the center from fold lines, much of the top and botton edges are frayed, light colors and backing are toned, a sleeve has been basted across the top of the quilt for hanging.
