Description:

Two Painted Wooden Covered Firkins, America, 19th century, wood stave and hoop-constructed firkins with pegged swing handles, one painted gray, reportedly found in Vermont, one painted black over earlier puce, impressed "C&A WILDER/SO. HINGHAM MASS," the initials "BF" painted in gold on the lid, the interior of the lid is inscribed "Bread Flour" in pencil, (imperfections),ht. to top of lids 11 1/2, 12 1/4 in.
Estimate $200-300

Gray- remnants of later paint on surface, lid has old crack.
Black- lid has old crack and sliver of loss
