Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure, surface grime.

The work is executed on paper that has been mounted onto canvas. The retouch is scattered dashes, primarily within the craquelure. The craquelure itself is stable.

The third digit in the date is difficult to read, but the date appears to be 1838. Research by the owner of this landscape indicates that the painting was given the title "Guernsey Fishermen " by the artist.
