German School, Early 18th Century

Virgin and Child with Cherubs Appearing to a Saint
Inscribed in ink along the bottom edge.
Brown ink and gray wash on laid paper overlaid with a pencil grid, 10 1/4 x 6 1/4 in. (26.0 x 16.0 cm),framed.
Condition: Staining, handling creases, hinged along top edge to backing mat.

Provenance: Through the estate of Matthew Wysocki (1920-1991),artist, photographer, professor, and chairman of Dartmouth College's visual studies department (1966-1989),to the present owner by family descent, Connecticut.
